The IIM Kozhikode Gurukul is an experiment in open learning and uninhibited thinking. The Institute has always prided itself in introducing concepts which challenge and invoke the learner to go beyond contemporary learning methods in the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. By means of creating this ‘Gurukul’ in the renowned IIM Kozhikode Library, the Institute wants to offer a free and holistic space for unhindered exchange of ideas for the next generation of thought leaders. This experiment in learning transcending mental boundaries, will serve as an inspiration to other institutes. So far, the Gurukul has hosted eminent dignitaries from all walks of life including the Hon'ble Governor of Kerala, the Swiss Ambassador to India, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command, Secretary Department of Atomic Energy, prominent names from the media industry and many other thought leaders. The informal interactions giving wings to exchanged ideas have become the hallmark of this special classroom at IIM Kozhikode.
